My run in with a jewelry aficionado

21 February 2003-1:08 p.m.

Last night at work I was sitting at the desk, waiting for the night to be over, and this man came in with his daughter. They selected some books, sat down and he was reading to her. Everytime I got up to do something he glanced over. It was very quiet and they were the only patrons in the place, so I can see where my movement might draw his eye. At ten minutes till closing they get up to leave. He walks over to the desk and asks if he can leave his books there. Then he continues to look at me. "I'm John" "Oh hi" I say. I smile. I am polite. He's still there. "you have beautiful jewelry" And I do. I was wearing a necklace I like very much. "may I see?" So instead of leaning forward and giving this John guy a nice look at my boobs, I took it off. He looked at it for a minute and then handed it back to me. Then said goodnight and left. Strange.
