A Man In Tights, Good Food, And Nazis

28 March 2003-10:52 a.m.

Brent Thomas has a huge.....talent (yes I think that's a safe euphemism). Or so he says. I really don't know. I don't have that personal experience. But he says he doesn't have to pad his tights.(spread the word across the country, this is me using my diary for good. I searched for a picture but couldn't find one, sorry ladies) Now how do I know this about Mr. Thomas? Why would this person tell me these things? If you're asking these questions you obviously don't know my friends, this is normal dinner table conversation. Which is exactly where this came up. Okay it wasn't dinner, it was midnight snack, and okay it wasn't a dinner table, more of a booth at The Grill., but still the concept is the same. Anyway apparently staying out until silly hours of the morning on Thursdays is beginning to become a pattern for me. This late night excursion to The Grill was fueled by Jen's need for a feta and fries fix. She was in town one night only, doing a special appearance. It was great to see her again. I picked her up at the airport and we shopped around Little Five Points. Then we came back to Athens, met up with Pirhana for dinner and drinks. Being social butterflies we then flitted between two rehearsals. One for The Rover and one for Bent. Both fabulous shows. I'm assistant directing Bent, and Lots of friends are in The Rover, including the aforementioned Brent of the huge talent. If you are in town you should check it out merely to see for yourself. It was after the rehearsals, that we went to the grill. At the rehearsals we had the pleasure of lots of hugs, and Jen got lots of attention, and I got called "a sex nazi" *shakes head" I wouldn't have to be a sex nazi if they knew their lines for the sex scene, now would I? I had no idea when I signed on for Bent, that a show about nazis and concentration camps could be so much fun to work on. But I digress.

We ended up at The Grill, had some food, and sat and talked for several hours. Wearily we made our way home sometime after one. Now I'm sleepy, but content, and I know that in about an hour I get to go have lunch and see Jen one last time before she goes away again. And then I come back here to work and do a storytime for kids who at the end will give me lots of hugs. So it's a good day.
