"Reality" Spring Break Wha? Oh My Head Hurts Just Thinking About It. 29 April 2003-11:06 a.m. Oh when I thought American entertainment could not sink lower. I found this in an article on CNN. "The lackluster showing of "Cancun" likely sent a shiver through Universal Pictures, a unit of Vivendi Universal , which is planning to release a similarly themed reality film "The Quest," later this year from "The Bachelor" creator Mike Fleiss. His film follows a group of college guys who drag one of their buddies to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico's Baja California on spring break to lose his virginity. 20th Century Fox, owned by News Corp. Ltd., is coming out with "From Justin to Kelly," a scripted musical starring "American Idol" contestants Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini and set during spring break in Miami." Lord. *shakes head* I'll repeat here what I've said before. When I watch TV I want to see actors. People with union cards and some talent. And that's on the TV. When I shell out upwards of 7 or 8 dollars to watch a movie I sure as hell don't want to watch some unscripted non-acted piece of crap. Maybe that's why this real cancun movie didn't do so hot? Hmmm? Possibly people don't feel like watching unscripted crap. I mean yes it's summer movie season so I'll be going to see crap but at least there's supposed to be a plot. I guess I'm more about the special effects kind of junk, at least when i'm paying money to sit there. I will be one of the many shelling out her money to watch the x-men movie this weekend, and then dishing out even more money for the matrix reloaded a week or so later. Heehee. Can't wait. New movies, new harry potter, what a good summer this will be. *claps hands in fangirly glee* |
