An Answer and Then Some For Beth 21 August 2003-2:16 p.m. A question about my living space has been asked I shall attempt to answer. I painted the hallway and the living room. The hallway is now a lovely cream (know in painting circles as Brazilian tan) and the trim and the wainscoting is a deep purple almost brown. I forget the name. It looks very nice. It was an odd bilious green color with dingy white trim. The living room is now a deep, beautiful red with white trim and the mantle above the fireplace is grey. The roomie likes it. We were sitting in our newly restored living room last night and remarking on how much bigger it seems. I'm not sure why but it feels huge. Much bigger than it did when it was all a dingy ugly taupe. There are just the two of us right now. For a while there were three of us, since a friend was staying with us while she finished up exams, worked on photos, and took that pesky Georgia Constitution test. But she has moved on to the North. In October we have another person moving in. She is bringing her two cats and we shall have fun and adventures trying to get all four cats to live together in peace and harmony. Should be tons of fun. In the meantime, the roomie and I eat raman noodles and scrape by as best we can covering the rent and bills. In other news, I got a free day off yesterday. The phone rang around 7 in the morning and it was a woman from work calling to tell me that the library had no power and wouldn't be open. Yahooo! I promptly went back to bed. I know how to celebrate a day off with pay, and that's by sleeping. Nothing beats the sleep of someone who knows that they are being paid while they do it. Ahhh. Later I worked on finishing touches on the living room and cleaned the refrigerator and did all the dishes that had been mounting up as we neglected everything to get the painting done. I was so productive I went and took a nap. Again with the sleeping. Later I got up, went to rehearsal for Rosenwhosits and Guildenguy. Then I came home and watched my new obsession, The West Wing. I missed this show when it first started and now Bravo is replaying then from the beginning, wow am I hooked. I love this show. Anyway the roomie and I had our little West Wing fix. After that we were hungry so Roomie decided to make toast. Instead of toast she tried to burn the house down. All in all a very eventful evening. After the fire we went to bed. |
